Even on the Coldest Days, an Ice Cream Cone Can Warm the Heart
“It’s community helping community and it’s never to cold for ice cream,” says Steve Adkins, Manager of Friendly’s in Vernon. “I love the support that I get from the Easter Seals Connecticut-Rhode Island staff; it helps to keep my crew motivated. We love to see Easter Seals come and visit the restaurant.”
The dollars raised through “Cones for Kids” help Easter Seals provide such comprehensive programs and services as medical rehabilitation, assistive technology, inclusive child care, adult day centers, and even camping and recreation for children and adults with disabilities. “For 25 years, Friendly’s has been an important partner in Easter Seals’ mission to create solutions that change the lives of children and adults with disabilities or special needs,” said John R. Quinn, President and Chief Executive Officer of Easter Seals Connecticut-Rhode Island. “The Cones for Kids campaign is a great opportunity for Friendly’s customers to become a part of that mission each year as well and enjoy some great ice cream in the process.”
