Supporting Autistic Youth & Young Adults

Empower school-aged children with autism through Easterseals' therapy, social activities, and career skills programs.

Easterseals also provides therapy services in welcoming classroom settings at local schools especially designed for students with autism. With Easterseals, learning doesn't end when school is finished. Easterseals provides social activities, evenings out, overnight and day camps and other recreational activities after school and during school breaks too. 

School-aged children with autism can be active participants in all areas of community life, including social and recreational activities. Easterseals programs offer weekend respite, evenings out and other opportunities to participate in recreational activities throughout the year. 

Easterseals’ expertise provides a variety of strategies to help school-aged kids with autism recognize social cues and communicate with their family members and in social situations. As always, this training will vary depending on the individual’s goals.   

We recommend that students with autism begin planning for adulthood with school-to-work programs. This can start in junior high or earlier, so young adults with autism can learn to develop career skills that are clear and measurable.
