Easterseals Alaska offers programs and resources to help you provide the best possible care for your spouse, parent or another loved one who needs assistance with daily living. These programs may be funded through medicaid waiver, medicaid, private insurance, or private pay. Please call our office for further details.
For decades, Easterseals Alaska’s Adult Services have put hope within reach for thousands of adults. Easterseals Alaska provides a variety of home and community-based services affording adults and seniors opportunities to live, learn, work and play as a vital part of their own community or neighborhood. These programs put hope within reach for adults with a developmental disability, persons with Alzheimer’s disease or other forms of dementia, as well as an individual with Multiple Sclerosis, or those who have had a stroke. In addition, these valuable programs offer respite, support, and education for family members and other caregivers.
Our adult services include:
Day Habilitation Services
Services provide out of home support in acquiring or improving social and adaptive skills in a community setting. This service assists in achieving the personal goals of each individual. Goals such as: personal safety, self-reliance, personal fitness, decision making and employment.
In Home Services/Adult Supported Living/Family Habilitation
There are certain responsibilities that come with being an adult and these can be extremely challenging if you are living with a disability. Our supported living program provides supervision and assistance, offering adults the opportunity to live in a safe, trusted and supported environment. Clients are encouraged to thrive and grow while being provided for in a nuturing family style living environment. All Easterseals Alaska adult services are performed by well trained, passionate caregivers who understand the unique needs of each individual.
Employment & Training
While being qualified for a job will go a long way, it is just as important to understand interview, job search and application skills. These skills can help with job longevity, as well as finding a rewarding career that will make you excited to go to work every day. Our Employment & Training program provides assistance with these skills, touching on all aspects involved with preparing for a job search and interview, as well as job coaching.
Personal Care Services
Personal Care Service provides hands-on care to clients and assistance with daily living activities such as bathing, and dressing, personal hygiene, meal planning and preparation, eating assistance, medication assistance, transfers and ambulation.
Respite Services are offered to provide caregivers a well needed break. We can provide services in home as well as in the community. You can leave home knowing your loved one is cared for with dignity and self respect. Services include meal planning and preparation, socialization, light housekeeping, dressing assistance and community outings. Whatever it takes to provide the caregiver time to focus on their own needs.
Chore Services are directed toward maintaining client households rather than provide hands-on assistance with personal care. Services include light housekeeping, house management, shopping and errands and meal preparation.
