Mark Bertrand joined The Boeing Company in 2002, holding various executive roles of increasing responsibility and impact. He retired in 2024 as Vice President – Space & Defense for Boeing Capital Corporation (BCC) in El Segundo, California. In this position, Bertrand led the team that structures and arranges financing on behalf of Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) and Boeing Global Services (BGS) defense-related customers. This team works closely with Boeing’s multiple business units, Boeing’s corporate office, Boeing’s global bank group and several critical functions to provide financing solutions and financial structuring expertise to Boeing’s defense and commercial satellite customers. Prior to joining Boeing, Bertrand served as director of customer finance for Lockheed Martin Finance Corporation.
He attended Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas and graduated with a bachelor’s degree in finance with a minor in German. He started his finance career on Wall Street, working for Bear Stearns, Inc. in New York. He also worked for BW Bank in Stuttgart, Germany. Later, Bertrand received his master’s degree in international business administration from the Thunderbird School of Global Management in Arizona.
After receiving his MBA, he was appointed by the Governor of California to lead the California Export Finance Office (CEFO) in San Diego. CEFO is California’s state version of an export credit agency, similar to the Export-Import Bank of the United States.
Bertrand lives in the Los Angeles area and enjoys traveling, horseback riding, and attending Los Angeles Chargers, Los Angeles Lakers, Anaheim Angels, and Anaheim Ducks games. He previously served on the board of directors for the California Chamber of Commerce and currently serves on the board of directors for Easterseals Southern California and the Aquarium of the Pacific.
