Summary:

Easterseals Western and Central Pennsylvania is a non-profit organization providing programs and services to individuals with disabilities and other special needs.  We are looking to hire a dynamic Program Specialist Community Participation to help adults with disabilities integrate into the community at large. This is a full-time position, Monday–Friday, 7:30 a.m. – 3:30 p.m., 40 hours per week. This position works out of our facility located in the Uptown section of Pittsburgh.  A comprehensive benefit package, including Paid Time Off, is offered. 

 

Basic Responsibilities:

The Program Specialist will be responsible for the implementation, evaluation and documentation of therapeutic programming in facility and community participation supports settings for the participants in the Adult Day Service program.

Qualifications:

The Program Specialist is required to have one of the following three levels of education/experience:

  • Master’s degree or above from an accredited college or university and 1 year of work experience working directly with individuals with disabilities;  or
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university and 2 years’ experience working with individuals with disabilities;  or
  • Associates degree or 60 credit hours from an accredited college or university and 4 years’ experience working with individuals with disabilities.
  • Current valid Pennsylvania driver’s license and acceptable driving record obtained through the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation required.
  • Acceptable Criminal Record Check and Child Abuse Clearance required.
  • Department of Aging FBI Clearance required if not a resident of PA continuously for the past 3 years.
  • Passing of physical examination and TB test required.

Note: A copy of the degree or college transcripts must be provided and retained in the personnel file per regulations.
