Learner with Autism Makes Big Progress at School

We love this story of success from Easterseals Olympic Peninsula Autism Center!

CT OPAC

CT is one of our young learners with autism at Easterseals Olympic Peninsula Autism Center (OPAC) in Silverdale. Three years ago, CT was unable to finish an evaluation at school for her IEP (Individualized Education Program) because she didn’t have the skills or the ability to sit long enough to finish. For children with autism and other disabilities, an IEP is essential to tracking students’ progress and ensuring they have the tools and resources they need to meet educational goals.

CT and Therapist

With guidance from our Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA), CT and her therapist worked hard to master the skills she would need to do better on her next evaluation – and their hard work paid off. This year, during CT’s re-evaluation, she was not only able to finish the testing but tested within normal range for all categories! We are so excited for CT and her family, and can’t wait to see what her future holds.

At Easterseals OPAC we are committed to giving children with autism the tools they need to succeed. Through one-on-one ABA Therapy, we help children develop the skills they need to communicate with peers and loved-ones, and keep up educationally with their typically-developing peers. Learn more
