Megan Wills
Associate Director
Easter Seals Blake Foundation (Tuscon, AZ)

Megan WillisMegan Wills has worn many different hats at Easter Seals, as she has worked there for 18 years, focusing on early childhood development. Now, she serves as the Associate Director of Easter Seals Blake Foundation in Tucson, Arizona.

Wills is inspired by the fact that the families that come to Blake are very open to receiving help and guidance from the early intervention team, sharing their stories and accepting new ideas and additional support. She loves to see the effects of early intervention on the child, their families, and their overall confidence.

Something that Wills finds unique about Easter Seals is the strong network that they have, which allows them access to a wealth of information and community support.

Wills has seen a lot of success stories in her 18 years at Easter Seals. For example, 18-month-old Mark came to Easter Seals diagnosed with autism. He did not want to play with others, bit his mom when he was angry, and was completely non-verbal. After working with him in the P.L.A.Y. program for eight months, he now speaks over 100 words, loves playing with his parents, and no longer bites his mom when he’s upset. Mark’s Developmental Pediatrician even said that if he were to do his initial evaluation today, Mark would no longer get the diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Disorder, but instead classify him as developmentally delayed.

Wills is so grateful to be able to be a part of bringing P.L.A.Y. training support to her team in order to see these positive results for their families. She would love it if more people were aware of these services and if the community was aware of the benefits of working with families in their natural environment.

Wills has worked at Easter Seals as an inclusion specialist, a Support/Developmental Specialist, an Early Intervention Supervisor, and currently works as an Associate Director. She has had a lot of training related to policy, infant mental health, child development, and her state’s system.

She has earned her Bachelor of Arts in Sociology with a minor in Family Studies, Summa Cum Laude. While at the University of Arizona, she held an internship with an inclusion Training Program and Early Head Start.
