Day Habilitation

Easterseals Alaska provides quality day habilitation services in the Anchorage bowl area. These services are available during daytime, evening and weekend hours and are covered by private fees or Medicaid. We are licensed through the state of Alaska as a Home and Community Support Services Agency, and all of our staff have passed a criminal background check and receive ongoing training throughout the year.

Who We Help:

Day habilitation services are meant to assist children and adults with intellectual and/or physical disabilities, to help them learn how to maximize their social and safety skills within the community.

What We Do:

Day habilitation enables clients to access the community in new and exciting ways by utilizing public transportation, grocery shopping, working out and forming meaningful relationships with peers. It includes overall work, play and recreational opportunities. Examples of this could be:

  • Learning to shop for personal items
  • Personal banking
  • Street crossing safety
  • Public transportation travel
  • Dining in public
