Eugene J. Manning is founder of Manning Broadcasting, Inc., which presently owns three radio stations in Hagerstown/Frederick, Maryland. He is also the founder and managing partner of Frederick Broadcasting LLC. Earlier in his career, he was a broadcast executive with the Associated Press in New York and CBS radio in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
Gene became involved with Easter Seals in 1989 as local co-host of the annual telethon. He has been a board member of Easter Seals Serving DC/MD/VA since 1993, serving as 1st and 2nd Vice Chairman and a member of numerous standing and ad hoc committees over the years.
At the national level, Gene was a member of the Easter Seals National House of Delegates since 1994. He served on many House committees, was the Mideast regional liaison, and served terms as secretary, vice chairman and chairman of the House of Delegates. Elected to the National Board of Directors in October 2006 and re-elected in 2009, Gene was a member of the Fiscal Committee and has served as chairman of both the Pension and Audit Committees. At the October 2014 meeting, Mr. Manning was elected to serve as an honorary member of the board.
