Colin has been participating in Easterseals Adaptive Water Program for over 20 years, starting when he was in preschool. He attends the outdoor adventure camps each year. His mother states that she values the caring staff and the effort they put into the programs to make it fun and safe for the participants. Colin looks forward to the yearly camps, so much in fact, that his parents do not tell him he is going until the morning they leave for camp. Otherwise, he would become so excited and not sleep the night before. Colin, who is mostly non-verbal, comes home from camp communicating more with the family and feeling happy. His family values the time at camp for Colin to socialize and participate in camp activities. Camp also allows the family to have some respite time, while not worrying about Colin’s safety or whether he is having a good time.
