FAQ

How do I enroll in the program?

  • We encourage every family and future member to tour our facility to help them determine if it is a good fit. Please give us a call at 412-826-4939 to set up a tour so we can be sure we have plenty of time to show you around and answer any questions you may have.

Do you accept members who have memory loss/confusion or a chronic medical condition like MS or diabetes? Do you accept members who use a walker/wheelchair or are incontinent?

  • Yes, we have a great deal of experience working with adults with dementia or Alzheimer’s disease. Our site has a full-time nurse on staff to assist with care of members who have different medical conditions.
  • Our site is fully accessible for members who use a device like a cane, walker, or wheelchair. Our staff’s primary goal is to ensure the safety and well being of our members so members with difficulty walking are escorted to prevent falls. Our daily exercise program can help build or maintain strength.
  • We offer incontinence care and can also help to develop a toileting schedule to prevent episodes of incontinence.

Do I have to change doctors to attend your center?

  • No, you can keep all of your current doctors. If needed, our nursing staff can work with families and their physicians to help maintain or improve the well being of our members.

When is your site open?

  • The site is open Monday through Friday, from 7:00 AM to 6:00 PM.

When would my loved one attend?

  • The majority of our members arrive between 8:00-9:00 AM and leave between 3:00-4:30 PM so the middle of the day has the best opportunities for socialization. Some people come one day a week and some attend five days a week, depending on the needs of the family and the member.

What services are offered at your program?

  • Our activities coordinators work hard to include a variety of activities into each month’s schedule. We would be more than happy to send you the most recent month’s calendar of events and/or newsletter if you contact us.
  • Some of the activities include:
    • Daily exercise
    • Tai Chi and Arm Chair yoga
    • Trivia and word games
    • Mini-golf within the site

How much does it cost to attend your program?

  • Many of our members qualify for financial assistance through the county Area Agencies on Aging. We would be happy to provide referrals to funding sources that you may be eligible for.
  • Our current private pay rate is $65 (including lunch) with partial days also available. You will likely find this rate is less expensive than in-home care, assisted living facilities, or nursing homes.
