The residents at one of our residential homes have been with Easterseals for over 13 years. Over the years that have been accumulating Christmas decorations, adding new items to their collection each year. Christmas is by far their favorite holiday, and they are extra excited for several weeks anticipating Christmas day. This year while the clients were helping the staff put up the outdoor decorations, cars were slowing down to see all the excitement and new additions - honking their horns to show their support. The house is becoming quite the attraction in the neighborhood and we believe this year, more than ever, people will be purposefully driving by at night to enjoy the scene. We hope you enjoy the pictures and have a Merry Christmas!
Easterseals Western and Central Pennsylvania’s Franklin Division operates four residential community homes within Venango County.
Our mission is to provide a safe supportive living arrangement to individuals with Developmental Disabilities. We provide 24 hour supervised support to consumers funded through Pennsylvania’s Office of Developmental Programs (ODP). This DPW 6400 Licensed Program is inspected annually by the Bureau of Human Service Licensing and is monitored on an ongoing basis by the Venango County Developmental Services office. This oversight assures that the consumers enrolled in this programming are receiving quality programming and that their needs are met. Currently, this program offers 3 and 4 bedroom accommodations to its participants. Ongoing communication between the family, medical professionals, local support coordinators, agency staff and any other applicable support systems allow for the highest quality of care for consumers. Placement within this program must begin with referral by either the Western Region Vacancy Manager of ODP or the County Developmental Services program.
