Caregiver/Member Stories

Easterseals of Western and Central Pennsylvania has been a part of our lives since my daughter, Melody, has been a child. And now that she is older, the best news we could have received was that Easteseals now offers the Adult Day Center in Indiana Township.  Melody needs a purpose in life and that is exactly what she gets at the Adult Day Center, a purpose in life, something we all seek. Easterseals provided care/therapy for my daughter as a child and even now in later years, Easter Seals is still there for her providing much needed services such as crafts, exercise, entertainment, games, music and a much needed social life. The program is so well rounded, Mel thinks she works there. Easterseals does not stop serving our community. Easterseals is a "Partner for Life."- Carol, mother of Melody

I am deeply grateful to have Easterseals in Richard’s life! His Tuesdays and Thursdays with you are the happiest days of his arduous week. My gratitude to you is enormous! Richard has enormous challenges in his life. A terrible automobile accident left him with a brain injury that destroyed his locomotion- his balance, leaving him with a walking problem, a hearing problem, and other challenges. But on Tuesday and Thursday, he smiles!  For that I thank you with all my heart. - Rose, mother of Richard

Eleanor enjoys the arts and crafts she does at the day center. The many activities she is able to participate in has benefited her because she is in good spirits when comes home and looks forward to going again.- Charlene, daughter of Eleanor

Helen enjoys the center. It makes her feel useful and she has someone to tell her stories to. - Frances, daughter of Helen

Easterseals has been a real blessing to me and my mom.  I have some relief, but more importantly, mom has really benefitted. She likes the new friends she has made and the staff.  Mom especially likes the games, and exercises, and of course playing the piano.  I am so happy that she enjoys Easterseals and to see how proud she is of the crafts she makes. - Janet, daughter of Lois

Jamie enjoys the activities and companionship of the clients and staff at Easterseals. She especially likes any activities with music.  The staff has always been very kind and caring.  Jamie has attended for more than 10 years. - Donna, mother of Jamie

The Easterseals Adult Day Services has been a tremendous asset to our family. My mother was only 60 when she began attending the program.  All of the staff treats her with kindness and respect. They provide many opportunities for her to contribute to the group and maintain a high level of independence. This group is a great source of friendship, compassion and safety for my mom. - Heidi, daughter of Janice

Easterseals Adult Day Services has been a godsend to us.  It's comforting to know my sister is surrounded by such loving, caring people.  Thanks for being here! - Mary Ann, sister of Cecelia

Linda has been attending Easterseals for over 10 years. This service has enabled us to care for our mom in her own home! Words cannot even begin to express our gratitude and extreme appreciation for all that the caregivers at Easterseals do. Angie, Lora and Carrie, daughters of Linda
