Why is it important to see yourself reflected in movies? Let's chat disability representation in film with other disabled women.

The Easterseals Disability Film Challenge showcased the talents of disabled writers, actors, directors, and producers. The short films proved that representation in front of and behind the screen can lead to remarkable storytelling and cinemetography. Hollywood is slowly coming around to including disabled voices in film, but we have far to go.

On May 16th at 6:30pm EST, Easterseals Thrive is hosting a virtual meetup to discuss disability in film, and to watch some of the finalists from the Disability Film Challenge.

Here's what you need to know to join!

We are meeting virtually with video, voice, and text chat options on the Zoom platform. You don't need to download anything to join, and the platform is free and easy to use.

Date and time: May 16th at 6:30pm EST.

RSVP: Email us and include your first name. You will receive an email with a link to join the day before the event.

You can use video, voice, or text chat during the meetup. We just ask that you use headphones if you plan to chat with a microphone. We will open the room 15 minutes beforehand if you want to test out the platform.

If you have any accessibility requirements, please let us know as soon as possible when you RSVP.
