Summary:

Will provide hands-on, on the job training, vocational training and vocational counseling to assist persons with disabilities in developing career independence.  Must be willing to work a flexible work schedule that may include evenings and weekends. Evening Shift:  2:00 pm to 10:00 pm; Day Shift:  10:00 am to 6:00 pm.  Typical work hours are Monday through Friday; 7.5 hours per day.  Full-Time positions with benefits!

Basic Responsibilities:

Direct Service:

  • Act as a role model to clients and a liaison between Easterseals and the contract served.
  • Provide on the job client training and/or implement training programs on jobsites according to each contracts scope of work.
  • Work alongside clients at work sites to ensure the scope of work  is completed to the job sites/ volunteer sites satisfaction and to provide the highest quality service.
  • Take responsibility for each assigned job site by understanding the SOW and the products utilized at each.
  • Assist in development of the site checklist.
  • Ensure professionalism when working with crews and customers.
  • Complete and turn in required paperwork for each job site, in a timely manner.
  • Work with the Contract Operations Manager to ensure appropriate training/re-training is provided and that site crew meets the need of the contract/training location.
  • Complete, document and turn in all mandatory Easter Seals/Cal-OSHA/worksite trainings with crew members annually or as needed.
  • Pick up/deliver work service contract supplies as needed.
  • Transport clients to work sites and maintain vehicle paperwork to the agency standard.
  • Cross train on all contract work both paid and volunteer to meet the needs of the agency.
  • Provide exceptional customer services, both internally and externally.

Qualifications:

Education and/or Experience:

  • Minimum of a high school diploma or GED is recommended; or
  • one (1) year full time experience working with individuals with physical and/or mental disabilities;
  • or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Must be 25 years or older with a good driving record to transport clients to job sites.

Working Knowledge of:

  • Philosophies, objectives, and goals of community service organizations.
  • Disabilities and related characteristics of individuals served by the agency.
  • Effective interpersonal communication techniques.
  • Community resources, related agencies, and available services.
  • Janitorial and/or landscaping-grounds maintenance techniques.

Language Skills:

  • Communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
  • Follow written and verbal directions.
  • Effectively be able to present information and respond to questions from supervisor, case managers, clients, and the public.

Other Skills and Abilities:

  • Use of general office equipment.
  • Basic computer skills (data entry).
  • Safely operate other program related equipment.

Reasoning Ability:

  • Ability to solve practical problems and use available resources.
  • Work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Maintain composure and good judgement under stressful conditions.
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff, volunteers, clients, and the public.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations, position requires:

  • Current valid California driver's license, proof of liability insurance and a good driving record.
  • Fingerprint clearance through the Department of Justice.
  • Current certificate in Adult CPR with AED and Basic First Aid.
  • Negative TB test within twelve (12) months of hire.
  • Evidence of COVID-19 vaccination or a negative test.
  • Pre-placement back assessment and physical.
  • Position requires a Federal PIV Badge
