Even small amounts of contact with nature contributes to and improves the mental and physical wellbeing of individuals.  This is true for everyone, from children to the elderly.  The meditation, relaxation and the invigorating opportunities gardens create for adults with dementia as well as children with Autism Spectrum Disorder will significantly benefit the children and seniors at our Easterseals Civic Center.

On April 12, 2019, United Way of Miami-Dade volunteers generously helped to create a sensory courtyard garden at Easterseals South Florida as part of their National Volunteer Week activities in Miami-Dade county.  Creating this courtyard garden in the name of Ms. Ginnie McCrae memorializes her legacy of kindness, compassion and volunteerism that was her passion for more than forty years in a space of peace and tranquility which will forever remind us of Miss Ginnie.
