
Community Living Supports (CLS)
The Community Living Support Program is designed to enable individuals with disabilities to lead an independent life free from institutional atmosphere. Easterseals provides qualified, trained staff, that are selected based upon the needs and desires of the person receiving services. Currently we serve individuals in over 30 counties with this program.
Who is Eligible for Community Living Support Services?
To qualify for acceptance into the program, individuals must have a diagnosis of either: Traumatic Brain Injury, Intellectial Disability or Developmental Disability from a Medical Professional. The funding for this program comes from a variety of sources including: grants, mental retardation wavier program, and community living support wavier program.
What does the Community Living Support Program Entail?
Most of our participants live in their own homes or residences with Easterseals Southern Georgia providing staff assistance. Easterseals staff provides assistance with activities of daily living such as: bathing, grooming, cooking, housekeeping, personal care, assistance in community activities and learning social skills. The hours of service are based on the individuals needs and will be provided with a minimum of interference with their daily life.
