As the ‘Safer at Home’ policy gradually lifts in various counties around the state, Child Development Services (CDS) is the first ESSC service line to return to center-based operations. Children and associates recently returned to centers in Ventura and N. San Diego Counties for the first time since center-based services were paused in March.
The CDS team engaged in an extensive and detailed planning process to ensure the health and safety of associates, kids and their families. “We’ve put many safeguards in place to create a healthy space for kids to learn, enjoy a meal and be creative,” said Elizabeth Mullgan, the CDS Area Director. “In addition to face masks and other personal protection equipment, everyone’s temperature is checked before coming in and asked if they have any health conditions we should be aware of.”
The number of children per classroom is limited, parental sign-in and sign-out procedures have been revised, additional sanitation and sterilization processes are being implemented, along with many other safety rules. CDS has done a great job preparing for their centers re-opening.
Open enrollment for our Child Development Services is currently in process in our IE, Northern San Diego and Ventura service areas. Our Early Head Start Center-Based Program and Home-Based Program are now enrolling children ages 0-5 and pregnant mothers!
