Summary:

Easterseals of Southeastern Pennsylvania seeks a fulltime Behavior Therapy Assistant to support the behavior and educational services provided to students in our Approved Private School programs and contracted charter schools.   This school program services young children with severe and complex disabilities including autism, physical disabilities, and communication limitations.  This position may include travel to our school sites in Philadelphia and Delaware Counties, as well as charter schools within the metro Philadelphia area.

Basic Responsibilities:

The Behavior Therapy Assistant involves implementing strategies as outlined in Positive Behavior Support Plans which could include, but are not limited to, providing direct instruction based on the principals of Applied Behavior Analysis and Verbal Behavior (ABA/VB).  This Assistant will work under the supervision of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) or Licensed Behavior Specialist (LBS). This individual will need to demonstrate flexibility as the position may be serving one student at a time or be supporting a classroom teacher in an assistant role. Additional roles and responsibilities may include ongoing data collection and/or progress monitoring, assisting with classroom management, support and assistance in the use of medical equipment and/or assistive technology, assisting with activities of daily living including toilet training, and supporting instruction provided by a teacher and/or therapist and carrying over strategies throughout the school day.

Qualifications:

An Associate Degree or higher in a related field is required.

Experience working with children with special needs and/or challenging behavior is preferred.

Reliable transportation is required for possible travel to additional school sites.
