Horizon Community Funds awards Easterseals Redwood $10,000 in support of Veterans

August 29, 2022 (CINCINNATI) – Horizon Community Funds has awarded Easterseals Redwood a $10,000 grant in support of veterans and their families.

Easterseals Redwood connects veterans to employment by maximizing their strengths and experience gained in military service, providing emergency services to veterans and their families through the Community OneSource hotline, and delivering academic and certification training to veterans, including those with disabilities.

Easterseals Military & Veteran Services (MVS) serves all veterans throughout Greater Cincinnati, but the grant from Horizon Community Funds will allow the organization to expand its service offerings and community network in Northern Kentucky.

“We are thrilled to partner with Horizon Community Funds to empower veterans in our region,” says Pam Green, President & CEO of Easterseals Redwood. “This grant, along with Easterseals’ recent combination with Redwood, will allow us to serve more veterans in Northern Kentucky and reshape their struggles toward lifelong peer support and stability for them and their families.”

2022 marks the 10th anniversary of Easterseals Military & Veteran Services (MVS). In that time, MVS has served 3,800 veterans, placed 1,000 veterans into employment and housed 200 homeless veterans. No veteran is ever turned away from our services, regardless of discharge status, disability or personal circumstance. Easterseals Military & Veteran Services is 100% staffed by veterans and adopts a comprehensive, holistic approach to ensuring that veterans have the resources and support they need to overcome adversity, improve their lives and succeed.
