Easterseals NH Voted Best Place to Volunteer

Local nonprofit receives top award from Manchester Radio Group’s “Best of 603”

Manchester, NH, September 15, 2022 – Easterseals NH ended a summer of successful fundraising events with a Gold Best Place to Volunteer award from Manchester Radio Group’s Best of the 603 program.

“We hold nearly thirty events around the state annually, and we depend largely on our volunteers for planning, staffing, and promotion. Thanks to their hard work, our events raise millions of dollars for Easterseals core programs and services,” said Pamela Hawkes, Easterseals NH Chief Development Officer. “We may be a best place to volunteer, but that’s because our volunteers make it so.”

Easterseals NH event volunteers collectively logged hundreds of hours during an event season that drew thousands of participants to venues in every part of the Granite State. From 5K races and dinner auctions to golf tournaments and lakeside festivities, volunteers like Annette McLaughlin gave it their all.

For the past 11 years, McLaughlin, a full-time Easterseals NH employee, has regularly volunteered for Easterseals events during her downtime. She’s worked the registration tables, tracked bidding at auctions, managed cash donations, and sold raffle tickets. “I like the events because they’re fun and I get to meet a lot of different people,” Annette says. “They do a lot of good for the community.”

“We are so appreciative of our volunteers and of all the Granite State listeners who voted us a best place to volunteer. It lets us know that we’re giving volunteers a great experience in return for their invaluable contributions of time and energy,” says Hawkes.

The Best Place to Volunteer award is Easterseals NH’s second consecutive gold award. Last year, they won first place in the Best Charity Event category.
