Easterseals Arc of Northeast Indiana has been awarded grants from two foundations to fund assistive technology for people with disabilities.
The Edward M. and Mary McCrea Wilson Foundation has awarded $5,000 to Easterseals Arc, while the Fort Wayne Health and Education Foundation has awarded a grant of $2,000. The funding will help Easterseals Arc provide about 50 individuals with assistive technology in 2020.
Depending upon the individual’s needs, the technology may include hardware and software, health and wellness devices, communication devices, mobility devices, or sensory devices. The technology purchases will help consumers achieve goals identified in individual person-centered plans; optimize independence and employability; and become better integrated into the community.
