Easter Seals Arc of Northeast Indiana celebrated its accomplishments of 2014 at the agency’s 3rd Annual Recognition Celebration on April 9. The event included awards for staff, clients, programs, advocates, and donors.
Randy Rutta, national Easter Seals president and CEO, delivered the keynote address to about 350 people in attendance. Rutta has worked with Easter Seals for 33 years and became president and CEO on January 1.
He spoke of the ongoing efforts of both Easter Seals and The Arc to improve the lives of people with disabilities through public policy initiatives as well as development of innovative programs and services. Easter Seals Arc is a local affiliate of both national organizations.
“We are part of a movement,” Rutta said in commending the staff, clients and families for their passion, “and we are not content with the status quo.”
Easter Seals Arc has established several awards to thank individuals, groups, and businesses in the community for their support and assistance.
Staff awards reward exceptional performance by individuals as well as an outstanding program.
Client awards recognize and celebrate the achievements of program participants working to improve skills and achieve goals for independence.
