Decades of Disability Services

Easterseals Arc of Northeast Indiana has been serving people with disabilities and their families for more than 65 years. What is now Easterseals Arc began as Johnny Appleseed School in 1954 with a small group of Fort Wayne parents who held a dream for their children with developmental disabilities. That dream included education, skill training, recreation, integration, and support that would enable their children to live within the community at the level of independence of their choice.

Today, the same basic principles and philosophy remain at the core of our ever-growing list of services. Easterseals Arc’s affiliation with both Easterseals and The Arc empowers us to provide the highest quality of services and resources for children and adults with a wide range of disabilities.

Building a Network

Easterseals Arc merged with Angola-based RISE Inc. in July 2020 to create our Easterseals RISE location. An Auburn office for Easterseals RISE opened in July 2021.

Easterseals Arc merged with Columbia City-based Passages Inc. in March 2021 to create our Easterseals Passages location.

In June 2021, Easterseals Arc of Northeast Indiana announced an alignment agreement with Cardinal Services Inc. Through that agreement, the Easterseals Arc network and Cardinal Services maintained their own identities and Easterseals Northern Indiana Inc. was created to operate as a parent organization.
