Lutheran Children’s Hospital and Easterseals Arc are entering their 13th year working in tandem to offer fun workshops for brothers and sisters of children with disabilities and/or special health concerns.
Sibshops are for kids ages 7 through high school seniors who have a brother or sister with disabilities/special health concerns. They provide an opportunity for siblings of children with special needs to meet other kids like themselves in a relaxed setting, discuss common joys and concerns, find out how others handle similar situations and learn more about their sibling’s special needs. Sibshops strengthen families by shining the spotlight on siblings, encouraging them to interact with and support their peers while learning ways to deal with the challenges they face regularly.
Sibshops usually meet from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturdays at Mad Anthonys Chidlren's Hope House on the Lutheran Hospital campus. However, due to COVID-19 safety concerns, 2021 Sibshops will meet via Zoom until the weather is warm enough ot be outside.
Dates for 2021 are:
Cost is $5 per Sibshop, which includes lunch. T-shirts are available for an additional $5.
