Missouri Botanical Garden

Autism-Friendly Family Night

SOLD OUT: Monday, September 27, 2021 | 4:30 PM

If you have any questions about this event, please contact Kris Krieger at 636-893-7103 or kris.krieger@esmw.org.

Explore, discover, and experience the beauty of the Garden and all its wonders at this FREE, family-friendly event. This event is designed to allow families that have children with autism to experience the Garden in a secure environment. Discover OrigamiintheGarden, an exhibition of 18 awe-inspiring, large-scale sculptures featuring flying birds, painted ponies, emerging butterflies, floating boats, a majestic tower that creates the illusion of 1,000 stainless steel origami peace cranes hovering above the water, and more.

There will be a self-guided scavenger hunt, an area to feed the fish, and an opportunity to pot your own plant during the visit! Different Dynamics will be joining the fun to provide interactive, hands-on music activities.

The safety of our guests and staff are top of mind - please adhere to the following garden safety protocols:

  • The Missouri Botanical Garden is no longer requiring masks to be worn outdoors. All guests ages 2 and older must still wear a mask in the Climatron, Visitor Center, and restrooms.
  • Guests will do their best to socially distance from other guests.
  • Due to COVID protocols, the Children's Garden and the Victorian Maze will be closed.
  • Food services and gift shops will be closed.
  • Hydration stations will be available, please bring a water bottle to utilize those.

If your child is unable to tolerate a mask, please contact us for additional support.
