We have provided Assistive Technology services statewide for the past 27 years working with all types of disability, levels of function, and in a wide variety of worksites. Why is Ergonomics Essential?

The Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) estimates that musculoskeletal injures (MSD’s), such as carpal tunnel, tendonitis, rotator cuff injuries, and low back injuries, account for 33% of all worker injury and illness cases. This translates into hundreds of hours of lost productivity and revenue. These  injuries are preventable with early detection, evaluation, and appropriate solutions. Ergonomics --- fitting a job to a person --- helps lessen muscle fatigue, increases productivity and reduces the number and severity of work-related MSDs. Need evidence that ergonomics work?

As many employees transition to working from home, they may be lacking the proper positioning equipment that they were utilizing in the office.

  • A 2017 Return on Investment study on ergonomics indicates that employers can expect: 8.4 month pay-back period, 67% reduction in production error, 25% increase in productivity, 65% decrease in injury rates.
  • A remote Ergonomic consultation can help to determine what equipment will be beneficial to the employee in their new home work environment to prevent MSDs. Please contact Leo Tonevski, Director of Assistive Technology, for rates and more information.
