Spotlight On: Cole Levy

Cole Levy Spotlight

Meet Cole Levy, an easy going guy who is as accomplished as he is active.

Meet Cole Levy, a 26 year old from Slidell who can now add Special Olympics Champion to his list of achievements. Cole has Williams Syndrome. Though mildly mentally handicapped, Cole's disability is actually an exceptional social personality - no one is a stranger to this guy.  Because of  his diagnosis he does have some anxieties with loud noises, bad weather and a short attention span. Though a very outgoing person, Cole faces a few daily challenges in that he loves to be social. This sometimes makes him awkward around people he does not know and can potentially leave him very vulnerable to strangers.

Despite these differences, Cole has excelled through the years and is one cheerful, happy guy. He has been working with Easter Seals for the past 6 years. Through ESL services, Cole has had the opportunity to find a job which he has held for the last 6 years and has had the support needed to work on his goals of being independent.

We recently caught up with Cole to hear how he's doing these days and to congratulate him on his new silver and bronze Special Olympics medals.
