Thank you for helping us make Ritzy's Fantasy of Lights a success!

2019 event raised the largest amount EVER for Easterseals therapy

Thank you for helping the Easterseals Rehabilitation Center once again make Ritzy's Fantasy of Lights a success! The 26th annual light show raised an estimated $180,000 between Thanksgiving and New Year’s Day, making it the best year ever despite the shorter holiday season. In the 26 years of the event, net proceeds have now reached more than $3.5 million to underwrite therapy services at the Easterseals Rehabilitation Center.

Easterseals estimates this year’s proceeds will help to underwrite as many as 3,750 therapy sessions for local children and adults with disabilities who couldn’t otherwise afford those services.

An approximate total of 11,457 vehicles (including horse-drawn carriages) drove through this year’s display, which mirrored last year’s count despite the shorter season.

This year’s total included approximately $21,500 in extra donations from Ritzy’s Fantasy of Lights visitors, above and beyond their admission fees.  Throughout the 35-night event, several local businesses supported the event. Ritzy’s, the light show’s title sponsor, donated single scoops of ice cream and hot chocolate during the new, family-fun event  “Photos with Santa” sponsored by Jim Back, CFP®-Financial Advisor Edward Jones.  Romain GMC sponsored the new, family-fun event “Polar Bear Express” with SUV Limousine generously donating a party bus for the event. Three new displays sponsored by  Sterling United Federal Credit Union, Toyota Motor Manufacturing, Indiana (TMMI), and Mesker Park Zoo & Botanic Garden brightened the park.  To end the season, the Evansville Thunderbolts gave away 400 free tickets to their New Year’s Eve game.

In addition to those driving through the event, this year’s “Bright Lights for Easterseals” 5K and 1-Mile Walk sponsored by the Evansville Thunderbolts on Dec. 4 raised more than in previous years.

The Easterseals Rehabilitation Center would like to especially thank the hard-working volunteers from IBEW Local 16, NECA, Electrical JATC, and Teamsters Local 215.The annual fundraising event and holiday tradition wouldn’t be possible without the expertise and time donated by members of those groups.

Thank you to the more than 60 companies and families that sponsor individual light displays.
