Meet Honor Ride 2021’s Honorary Ride Directors: Wyoming Ohio Cycling Foundation

Easterseals thanks the Wyoming Ohio Cycle Foundation for being the 2021 Honorary Ride Directors of Easterseals inaugural Honor Ride. The foundation has generously accepted the offer to be the Honorary Ride Directors of Easterseals Honor Ride 2022.

The Wyoming Ohio Cycle Foundation was founded in 2004 as a small group of about 6 cyclists, and was incorporated into a nonprofit organization in 2013. It now has about 85 members, and its mission is the promotion of safe cycling, cycle maintenance and road safety for Wyoming, Ohio and the Greater Cincinnati area.

During the lead-up to Honor Ride 2021, the Foundation offered cycling tips to registrants for “Ride Tip Tuesdays.” Some of these included reminders to check and maintain your bike, connect with a local bike shop, learn about MIPS (multiple impact protection system) and connect with others to serve your community.

The Foundation got involved with Honor Ride to combine their love of riding with charitable giving to support local veterans who rely on Easterseals for help. They met Chris Macklin, a Job Development Coach with Easterseals Military & Veteran Services, to learn more about Chris’ personal story and how Easterseals supported him, and many other veterans, in finding stability.

For the cyclists, the exhilaration of biking through the streets of their hometown has evolved into something much more. Their willingness to go beyond cycling and support veterans and their families sets them apart as Easterseals heroes.

Easterseals looks forward to welcoming the Wyoming Ohio Cycling Foundation back again next year for Honor Ride 2022.
