Easterseals thanks sponors, speakers and participants for a great 2021 Work & Grow Summer Camp

August 6, 2021

Thank you to our sponsor, Mitsubishi Electric, as well as our individual donors, business community speakers, volunteers, staff, parents and participants for another successful Work & Grow Summer Camp.

This summer, Easterseals serving Greater Cincinnati held Work & Grow Summer Camp at two locations, College Hill and Mason. Work & Grow College Hill took place from June 7 to July 16, and Work & Grow Mason took place from July 19 to August 6. Work & Grow Summer Camp is an engaging experience for young adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities to learn about the many benefits of getting a job in the community, from personal growth to social engagement.

Professionals and entrepreneurs volunteered their time each week to present several different business topics. These included:

Work is more than just a paycheck. Our summer camps are a great place to learn while having fun and making friends. Each week had a new theme focused on building strengths and sharpening skills that can be used on the job and at home. These included:

His father and I were thrilled and know that he really got a lot from it. I appreciate the hard work from you and everyone else to support him!” - Elyn Buscani, Nick's mom

"Zach thoroughly enjoyed his time this summer at Easterseals... it was well worth his time to understand and grow in his ability to see his future and what it may hold." - Kate Walker, Zach's mom

"Amy had a great time at Easterseals Work & Grow Camp. She always came back with a positive attitude and learned a lot of great skills that will help her as she looks for a full-time job. The staff was always pleasant to work with and responsive in their communication." - Dan Miller, Amy's dad
