Work is more than just a paycheck! Easterseals Work & Grow Summer Camp is a great experience for young adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities to learn about the many benefits of getting a job in the community, from personal growth to social engagement.
Our summer camps are a great place to learn while having fun and making friends. Each week has a new theme focused on building strengths and sharpening skills that can be used on the job and at home.
College Hill: June 7 – July 16
Mason: July 19 – August 6
$265 per week with a two-week minimum
Funding may be available to those who qualify
Week 1: Career Exploration

Not sure where you want to work? This session will explore your interests and talents and how you can use this information to find jobs right for you.
Week 2: The Entrepreneur in You
Week of June 14
If you started your own business, what would you do? Work with a team of peers to develop a business idea. Present your company as a team to the class at the end of the week.
Week 3: Let Your Story Shine – Applying & Interviewing
Week of June 21
Learn how to apply for jobs that fit your talents and use the written word to get the job you want. Practice expressing yourself professionally to potential employers.
Week 4: Let Your Story Shine – Being a Valued Employee
Week of June 28
Get the job, keep the job! Learn how to be a valued employee and successfully navigate the workplace culture.
Week 5: Building Healthy Relationships
Week of July 5
We all need friends to make life more fun! If you want to make new friends, learn how to be a good friend or deal with conflicts in relationships, this is the class for you!
Week 6: Life Safety
Week of July 12
Watch out! Life is filled with potential dangers, whether it’s on the job, on social media or in the community. Learn how to stay safe in these areas of your life.
Week 1: Career Exploration

Week 2: Living Independently
Week of July 26
Want to live on your own someday but not sure how to deal with a budget? Develop a monthly budget and use that budget to manage your bills & expenses. We’ll also practice being more independent with house skills & learn how to be safe at home.
Week 3: Building Healthy Relationships & Staying Safe
Week of August 2
We all need friends to make life more fun! If you want to make new friends, learn how to be a good friend or how to deal with conflicts in relationships, this is the class for you! We will also learn about staying safe on the job, on social media or in the community.
