Basic Responsibilities:

Are you looking for a Great Place to Work?  Easterseals Florida, rated 2020 Great Place to Work by our staff, is seeking an Accounting Supervisor to join our Accounting Team in Central Florida.  The role of the Accounting Supervisor is responsible for supervising and overseeing accounting activities performed by the Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable staff, ensuring accuracy of the financial information and preparing financial reports. We are seeking someone with keen attention to detail, who is able to handle multiple tasks successfully, identify and work to resolve issues, maintain internal controls, and ensure compliance with GAAP.  We need a person who takes responsibility for ensuring the general ledger is accurate and supports the CFO by monitoring cash flow, overseeing month end closing, publishing of the financial statements, and coordinating the annual audit.  We also need someone with the skills to present web-based trainings to staff who work across the state, helping them to understand accounting procedures. You must possess the skills and experience to supervise and develop your team, as well as have the technical skills to support your team with accounting software issues.  This position is located out of our Winter Park office.


What We Value:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent; or five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Supervisory experience preferred
  • Ability to supervise team members remotely
  • Must be able to travel to the office (located in Winter Park) as needed
  • Knowledge of GAAP and other accounting principles
  • Excellent knowledge and experience with accounting software and databases
  • High level of technical skills to be able to support team members with software issues
  • High level of Excel and spreadsheet skills required
  • Strong mathematical, analytical, and organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent communication (written and verbal), customer service, critical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality at all times
  • Ability to work independently, multitask, work well under pressure, make sound decisions, and meet deadlines
  • High level of integrity and dependability
  • Willing to and skilled at giving and receiving feedback
  • Ability to interact with a variety of individuals at various levels under stressful circumstances while exercising sound judgement, tact, and diplomacy
  • Ability to meet our approved driver qualifications in order to drive for organization related business
