Basic Responsibilities:

$14.00 per hour - Full-time 30 hours per week plus benefits

Are you looking for a Great Place to Work?  Easterseals Florida, rated 2020 and 2021 Great Place to Work by our staff, is seeking a Lead Life Skills Trainer to work with developmentally disabled adults in a community-based work setting Monday through Friday. The Lead Life Skills Trainer provides supervision of our clients at the center, coaches/trains them in learning new job duties and skills, and ensures they are maintaining quality and meeting job quotas.  The Lead Life Skills Trainer provides leadership to staff, ensures documentation is completed accurately and timely, and ensures timely and quality performance of contracted services.

The Lead Life Skills Trainer acts as an advocate on behalf of clients and provides feedback to support clients to continued success.  Additionally, the Lead Life Skills Trainer will maintain all records and reports, including daily notes, goal tracking, case notes, attendance reports, and all other assigned reporting.  Since the Lead Life Skills Trainer may transport individuals to and from the center using a para transit style vehicle (no CDL required), the qualified candidate must be able to meet our approved driver qualifications.

Hours of operation are Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm.

What We Value:

  • Minimum of a high school diploma or GED
  • Experience working with persons with disabilities on job skills training self-advocacy training, or daily living skills training, as well as assisting with personal needs such as monitoring behaviors, toileting, changing, and feeding, is preferred
  • Leadership experience preferred
  • Knowledgeable on responding to work-related needs of people with disabilities
  • Excellent people skills and demonstrated patience & professionalism in working with all levels of participants and employers alike
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking skills
  • Non-profit experience preferred
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Ability to meet our approved driver qualifications in order to drive our vehicles (para transit style vehicle - no CDL required), as required to drive for program related business
