“I can’t wait to get back to work.” – Caroline, LEAP Graduate
Caroline successfully completed Easterseals’ LEAP Program and was hired by Jason’s Deli, one of Easterseals’ many community partners. Due to COVID-19, Caroline and her colleagues were unable to work for many weeks. But with restaurant reopening in progress, Caroline is now back to work, ready and excited to put her skills to use.
Easterseals' LEAP (Life Skills, Employment Readiness, Advocacy, and Participation) Program helps adults with developmental disabilities live and work as independently as possible within their communities. LEAP members will have individualized experiences that include:
- Resume, application, and interview coaching
- Job search and job placement assistance
- Life skills training such as functional literacy, money management, daily living, and personal/social interactions
- Community immersion through volunteerism, using public transit, and more
