Where is Respite Camp located?
It takes place at the Pocono Environmental Education Center (PEEC) located at 538 Emery Road, Dingmans Ferry, PA 18328.

Directions from the Lehigh Valley:

• Take 22 East to Route 33 North toward the Poconos and Stroudsburg.
• Route 33 will merge with Route 209. Follow signs to Interstate 80 East.
• Take 80 East to exit 309 Marshalls Creek/Route 209.  Follow Route 209 North for approximately 17 miles. You will see the sign for PEEC between mile markers 8 and 9. The sign is directly opposite the road to PEEC.
• Turn left onto Brisco Mountain Road.
• At the top of the hill, bear right at the stop sign and PEEC will be on your right.
• Follow the signs directing you to check-in.

Do you offer transportation?
No, we are unable to offer any transportation.

Where do I go when I arrive on the first day (Friday) of a session?

What should I bring twith me for my overnight stay?
See our suggested packing list. Please do not bring any valuables. Easterseals cannot be responsible for lost or damaged items. We discourage cell phones. There is typically little to no cell phone reception at PEEC and we find that phones distract from activities.

How do you handle medications?
If you are bringing medications, they MUST be in the original, labeled bottle. We cannot accept pre-poured or pre-counted medications. We cannot accept any medications that have altered labels or containers that have more than one type of medication in them. If there is a medication or dosage or time change, it must be updated in CampDocs. All medications are administered by our Respite Nurse, who is an RN. If you have questions or concerns about medication administration please contact egonda@esep.org.

Where do participants sleep?
Everyone stays in a large, fully accessible duplex-style lodge, with separate sides for males and females. The lodge is heated and air conditioned, and each side has accessible bathrooms and beds. Beds have a camp-style mattress. you must bring your own twin sheet set, pillow, sleeping bag and towels. The lodge is fully staffed by Easterseals program staff throughout the night to ensure safety.

What kind of food and snacks are available?
We dine three times per day in the PEEC dining hall that provides a variety of hot and cold foods that can accommodate most food allergies. Please do not bring snacks or drinks unless it is medically necessary (ie. Thik-it, applesauce or yogurt for taking pills, etc.). Eliminating food in the lodge helps manage the risk of exposure for those with food allergies and does not attract animals or pests (we are in the woods after all).

How do I pay for Respite Camp?
We accept multiple forms of payments including: Waiver funds, FSS, cash, checks and credit cards. If you are working with a Supports Coordination Agency, please contact your Supports Coordinator for more funding options.
