To manage the resource development program for Easter Seals DuPage & Fox Valley, including fundraising, public relations, volunteers and marketing, in order that the program is consistent with the objectives, policies and philosophy of the Easterseals DuPage & Fox Valley; to serve as a member of the leadership team, participating in decision-making affecting the overall operation and future of Easterseals DuPage & Fox Valley.
Conceive, develop, plan, provide for, implement, monitor and evaluate a comprehensive development program for Easterseals DuPage & Fox Valley based on the strategic priorities set by the Board of Directors and the CEO to include individual, corporate, foundation, government grants, planned giving etc.
Manage and evaluate the public relations and marketing program of Easter Seals DuPage & Fox Valley that align with the strategic priorities set by the Board of Directors and the CEO.
Provide primary staff support to the Development Committee of the Board of Directors; assist the Chairman of the Development Committee with Committee functions.
Cultivate and steward relationships with client families, members of fundraising organizations, donors, individuals and other community organizations and the media.
Cultivate and steward relationships with donors and major gift prospects. Support the Board of Directors and the CEO in donor solicitations. As appropriate, solicit donors.
Oversee research funding sources and trends, with foresight, to stay attuned to major funding changes and/or trends.
Attend and participate in meetings of the Board of Directors to assist in the development of strategy and report on the priorities, goals, outcomes, and statistical analysis of the department.
Oversee the development of materials, messaging, and distribution of all public relations activities; overall marketing and fundraising purposes; this includes public service announcements, news releases, features, brochures, annual reports and newsletters, both on-line and off-line.
Hire, train, mentor, actively support staff retention, promote, and, if necessary, terminate staff within the department.
Conduct staff performance evaluations and collaboratively develop professional development plans of all department staff no less than annually.
Supports opportunities for staff education and development.
Develop the department’s budget, approve department expenditures, and monitor department’s budget.
Participate in overall management of Easter Seals DuPage & Fox Valley through membership on the management team.
Remain current on Easter Seals DuPage & Fox Valley services and programs as well as on development in the field of development by independent study and participation in seminars, workshops and courses.
Work with the President & Chief Executive Officer in the development of long-range financial planning and Board leadership in relation to unearned and earned income.
Assist Easter Seals DuPage & Fox Valley to keep abreast with the department’s activities and responsibilities through written and personal communications.
Adhere to Easterseals DuPage & Fox Valley Code of Ethics. Comply with all Federal, State and local laws and regulations. Work is performed consistent with established Easter Seals DuPage & Fox Valley’s Mission, Values, and Philosophy.
Bachelor’s Degree Required.
Minimum of seven years of experience in resource development, including marketing, is required.
Staff supervision at a management level is required.
Mature communication and interactive skills are essential.
