Summary:

The Director of Speech & Language, Assistive Technology, is responsible for planning, organizing, implementing and overseeing the Speech & Language, Assistive Technology for the benefit of persons with disabilities and their families, which is consistent with the objectives, policies and philosophy of the Center.  At the same time, the individual serves as a member of the Administrative team, participating in decision-making affecting the overall operation and future of the Center.

Basic Responsibilities:

I.     Adheres to Ethical Standards of Practice
a.    Delivers services consistent with established Easterseals DuPage & Fox Valley Mission, Values, and Philosophy.
b.     Maintains patient confidentiality and respects the rights and dignity of all individuals.
c.     Meets current productivity expectations as outlined by the department.
d.    Complies with current ASHA Code of ethics, state licensure laws, and all prevailing Federal, State and local laws and regulations.
e.     Adhere to Easterseals DuPage & Fox Valley Code of Ethics.  Comply with all Federal, State and local laws and regulations.

Qualifications:

A.    Master’s degree in the area of Communicative Disorders from an accredited college or university.
B.     Must be licensed and certified as appropriate to profession, having competency in Speech and Language Pathology with a pediatric focus.
C.     Minimum 5 years of experience in management and supervision of a speech and language program.
D.    Must demonstrate excellence in communication and leadership skills.
E.     Must maintain professional relationships with staff, volunteers, Board Members, parents of clients and clients.
F.     Must maintain current CPR certification.
