Helping people with disabilities is what we do at Easterseals, but we can't do it alone. One way to get involved is to attend a caregiver workshop, put together a volleyball team, sit on an event-planning committee, or pitch in on-site at an event -- there's something for everyone. Visit this site often for updated information on events in your area.
Another way to support people with disabilities is to volunteer your time, talent or expertise. Learn more here about volunteer opportunities.
Take a Break Through Easterseals Respite Grants
While caregiving is rewarding, it requires an immense amount of time and energy and often leads to caregiver burnout. Respite helps to keep family caregivers physically and emotionally healthy by reducing the likelihood of depression, anxiety, and isolation.
Through Easterseals respite services, caregivers can receive a voucher to be used to pay for the care of your loved one while you take a break. Whether that is going to dinner, seeing a movie, or reading a book - whatever gives you a break! The eligibility requirements for each grant can be found on our website.
To apply, click APPLY FOR RESPITE GRANT or call 302-221-2087.

Myths and Facts About Depression: What You Should Know
Come and learn about what depression is and is not. There are many myths about depression that prevent people from receiving the proper intervention. These myths contribute to the stigma and shame regarding mental health issues. The facts about depression provide hope and encouragement for those individuals and families seeking help and support, especially during this time of COVID-19 virus. Our speaker this month is Elizabeth Davis, Psy. D, with the Mental Health Association of Delaware.
The virtual workshop will be held on Wednesday, October 21st at 10:00am.
The workshop is free but registration is required. Please email firstname.lastname@example.org to register and receive the virtual meeting link.
We look forward to seeing you!
