Virtual Dap- Day 2

Invisible Differences

Today we are discussing Invisible differences with our friend Banner. Banner is excited to share about his autism, his love of wrestling and what it means to be cool.  View today's video  Download today's video

  1.  The first activity is about autism awareness,  (download here) thinking about things that you are good at and things your struggle with.
  2.    The Zones of Regulation flyer (download here) is for parents and children to read through together. This helps us understand what the Zones of Regulation are, and how we can all identify what zone we are in. The Zones of Regulation® is a self-regulation model created by an occupational therapist, Leah Kuypers, MA Ed. OTR/L,. If you would like to look up additional resources on the Zones of Regulation, visit https://www.zonesofregulation.com/index.html
  3.    The third page of the Zones of Regulation flyer is an activity! Try monitoring your emotions throughout the day and see where you are. Or, think about a time in the past when you have been in each of the zones.

4.      The next activity (download here) asks you to think about what it means to be inclusive and share it with us!

How did these activities go? Send us photos/videos! Share you completed worksheets with us! Do you/ your child have questions about the Zones of Regulation, sensory processing or other invisible differences? Email Mhogeboom@eastersealsci.com
