This webinar will provide information for families on how to promote children’s social and emotional skills, understand their problem behavior, and use positive approaches to help children learn appropriate behavior. Throughout this webinar participants will identify the importance of building positive relationships with children and discuss the “power” of using positive comments and encouragement with children. This workshop is intended for families. NO professional development credits will be given.
As we adapt to these unexpected and challenging times due to COVID-19, Erikson's Center for Children and Families is offering virtual mental health services to parents, caregivers, and children, as well as crisis counseling and consultation to support first responders and early childcare providers and teachers. Services can be provided in both English and Spanish, and are available to families regardless of their ability to pay.

Fine Motor: Take an empty coffee can or another container with a plastic lid. Depending on your child’s age and ability, you can cut a slit, make a larger hole, or even leave the lid off. You child can practice transferring popsicle sticks, straws, or any similar items into the top. Have them practice opening/closing the lid and repeat!
Movement: Can you find a creative way to help your child practice balance?
Sensory: Nature themed mystery bag! This helps to build the tactile (touch) sense and enhance material visualization (picturing what it might look like).
