February is National Children's Dental Health Month
This month the ADA (American Dental Association) supports promotion of the benefits of good oral health to children. Please visit the ADA Dental Health Month site at: https://www.ada.org/resources/community-initiatives/national-childrens-dental-health-month for posters, flyers, program planning guides, publicity resources and printable activity sheets (see attachment).
February is American Heart Month
American Heart Month is a time to focus on their cardiovascular health. The Division for Heart Disease and Stroke Prevention is shining a light on hypertension (high blood pressure), a leading risk factor for heart disease and stroke. The Division is committed to addressing barriers to health equity in communities disproportionately affected by cardiovascular disease. The CDC (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention) is offering a toolkit that can help communicate the importance of the prevention of high blood pressure. Black History Month is in February
The Association for the Study of African American Life and History (ASALH) designated a theme for the 2022 Black History Month as Black Health and Wellness. This theme considers health and wellness activities, rituals and initiatives that Black communities have done to be well.
