Now enrolling for the second summer session of 2019 – July 8th-26th!
Ready for adventure?
The Academy at Riverdale offers a summer program for school-aged children (ages 6-21) that incorporates learning, fun, art, active movement and therapy with individual goals for each child.
Children enrolled in the summer program will be placed in one of four groups based on age and ability levels and will spend most of the day in the small group setting with larger group activities to start and end the day and throughout the week.
Our summer program uses certified teachers, certified special education teachers and paraprofessionals to lead small groups and monitor each individual child’s progress toward accomplishing his or her own specific goals and objectives.
Therapists involved in the program are masters level professionals who are licensed in the state of Arkansas.
The summer program focuses on the intellectual, physical, emotional and social development of every child through all sorts of activities throughout the day. Each child receives their prescribed therapies (occupational, speech and physical) throughout the week.
An individual treatment plan (ITP) is created and progress toward the plan is monitored during the program.
Due to budget constraints, the program is unable to provide individualized one-to-one support or full-time nursing staff. If your child requires either of these supports, he or she is not a right fit for this program.
Hours of Operation
The program runs from 8:30 a.m. - 2 p.m. Monday through Friday during the given weeks it is offered. Extended care is available until 5pm for parents who need afternoon childcare for an additional cost.
Children may receive occupational, physical and/or speech therapy as early as 8 a.m. and ending no later than 5 p.m.
