York Properties Shows Their Continued Commitment

Volunteers from York Properties Provide Community Service at Easterseals UCP

Raleigh, NC, May 26, 2018

Year after year, staff from York Properties in Raleigh, NC show their support for children and adults with special needs at Easterseals UCP.  They do this by donating to Easterseals UCP and the giving their time by volunteering.

York PropertiesThis month, York Properties staff took on tasks at the Ben Lloyd Group Home in Raleigh.  Volunteers spent a day mowing the grass, pruning bushes, pulling weeds and cleaning up the yard.

Brooke Hanford, York Properties Senior Marketing Specialist said, “York is one of the oldest family-owned companies in the Triangle.  Our Chairman, Smedes York, and President George York, have a history of giving back to the community which extends to their work family. They not only encourage but enable us to go out and make a positive impact. We worked on tidying up the lawn for an Easterseals UCP women’s group home in Raleigh.  It was just a simple thing to let them know we’re here and we care.”

In 2016, York Properties was part of a big overhaul at the Charlie Gaddy Child Development Center. They transformed a worn and faded playhouse into Charlie’s Pitstop, complete with a drive-through car wash, Gaddy garage, Charlie’s Diner, a child-sized picnic table, York Security car and more on a beautiful section of artificial turf. Easterseals UCP is grateful to York Properties and all the companies that donate their time, supplies and funds to help children and adults with special needs.  For more information on volunteering.
