State of Virginia Proclaims May as Early Intervention Month

Infants and Toddlers Benefit from Services at Easterseals UCP

Salem, VA, May 22, 2018

va ieThe Early Childhood Outreach team at Easterseals UCP Virginia joins Governor Ralph Northam in celebrating Early Intervention Month in May 2018. In the Virginia Proclamation, Governor Northam stated, “Whereas partnerships among state agencies, physicians, other private care providers, and families with children with disabilities help ensure that the continuation of early intervention services that enhance development and promote the health and well-being of Virginia’s children and families.”

EI VirginiaIn Virginia, the Easterseals UCP Early Childhood team serves more than 600 infants and toddlers with developmental delays and/or disabilities every year through services including developmental assessments, developmental education, service coordination, inclusive playgroup and developmentally based music group called Busy Beats.

“We are often the first resource families connect with when they step into the world of early childhood special education,” said Tristan Robertson, Virginia Regional Vice President of Easterseals UCP.
