Sparky's Snowballs Support Easterseals UCP

Easterseals UCP EMPOWER benefits from proceeds

GREENVILLE, N.C., April 17, 2017

Easterseals UCP EMPOWER of Beaufort County received warm support from a cold business.  Sparky’s Snowballs, a Shaved Ice Shop in Greenville, came out to the PirateFest in Greenville last week.  EMPOWER staffers worked the snowball truck and served up snow cone after snow cone all day.

By days end, dozens of shaved ice were sold to happy customers and the owner of Sparky’s Snowballs donated the proceeds to Easterseals UCP EMPOWER Program. A big shout to a generous local business owner for donating $500.The owner’s son attended the Easterseals UCP Summer Moore Child Development Center in Greenville, and she is grateful to the services he received.

Easterseals UCP EMPOWER offers After School Programs and Summer Day Camp at several locations in North Carolina.  The program, sponsored by Trillium Health Resources, is open to children with intellectual and developmental disabilities and their siblings.  The goal is to bridge the gaps in social and recreational programs for the special needs population ages 5 to 22.
