For 18 years, Amy Feuerberg has enjoyed swimming, canoeing, horseback riding and toasting marshmallows at Camp Easterseals UCP. For children and adults with varying disabilities, Camp Easterseals UCP is a home away from home during the summer and some weekends.

Now, Amy, who is 27 years old and diagnosed with autism, wants to help other campers who cannot afford an overnight camp through her fundraiser called “Amy Helps Dreams Come True Fund.”   Her goal is to raise $2,000 by January 31st.  Click the link to donate.

amyAmy said, “Mom just filled out my registration form and camp is over $1000 per week.  That is a lot of money but for many that is an impossible amount of money.  Everyone deserves a vacation and camp is the only vacation many of us get.”She calls Camp Easterseals UCP the best camp in the world.

“Camp is expensive and not everyone has enough money to go. That’s why I want to try to raise money for camp scholarships for people just like me.  Some can't talk.  Some can't walk.  Some can't sit up in a chair.  But we can all participate and have fun at camp.  The counselors are wonderful and they love us.  Please help me if you can,” said Amy.

Her family has been supporting Easterseals UCP for years, and Amy is following in their generous footsteps.  Amy said, “I just found out that February is also Jewish Disability & Inclusion Awareness Month. Look around you and thank God for all you have.  Perhaps you can help someone else smile too.  I will smile and say hello to you no matter what.  But I promise a bigger smile if you can help at all.”

Support Amy’s fundraiser and help a child or adult with disabilities attend Camp Easterseals UCP. Check out how to become a camper, staff or volunteer at Camp Easterseals UCP

Easterseals UCP works side-by-side with adults and children who are managing disabilities and mental health challenges. We serve as a nurse, a therapist, a social worker, a job counselor, a teacher, a psychologist, a caregiver and a compassionate friend all rolled into one. Our purpose is to help neighbors in need achieve better days and live their best possible life.
