Easterseals, the leading nonprofit serving one in four Americans living with disabilities today, celebrates its 100th anniversary on Monday, April 22, 2019.
To commemorate Easterseals’ centennial, Charlotte will illuminate The Vue Charlotte and The Wells Fargo Duke Energy Center building in orange on the evening of Sunday, April 21.
Easterseals is the largest nonprofit healthcare organization in the United States, delivering services to and supporting more than 1.5 million people annually through a national network of 70 community-based affiliates, including Easterseals UCP of North Carolina and Virginia.
“This is more than simply marking an anniversary. The Vue Charlotte and The Wells Fargo Duke Energy Center buildings in Charlotte are literally shining a light on the mission of Easterseals, which has made an indelible mark on the lives of people living with disabilities since 1919,” said Luanne Welch, president and CEO, Easterseals UCP. “It is also a chance to celebrate the efforts of Easterseals UCP here in the Charlotte area where our organization has been serving our neighbors in need for almost 80 years.
Over the past 100 years, Easterseals has changed the lives of people with disabilities through innovative services and advocacy.
