Easterseals UCP Celebrates Foster Parents

A Salute to Front Line Heroes

Wilmington, NC, July 30, 2020

Jaime and Rokima Knox have helped foster 32 children since 2009.  Their support as foster parents has been incredibly amazing and essential as children who have experienced trauma need a safe place to go temporarily while courts and the state work out varying issues. Easterseals UCP has been able to count on Jaime and Rokima.

In the midst of the pandemic, Jaime and Rokima took the bold step of taking in two brothers, ages two and a half and six. This loving couple with big hearts gave these children safety, a home and love.

Deanna Cornett, Easterseals UCP Foster Care Program Director, said “Easterseals UCP is fortunate to have compassionate and highly skilled foster parents such as Jaime and Rokima who consistently go above and beyond - not only to meet the needs of children in the foster care system, but also to make their community a better place.”
