Easterseals UCP Supports Independence at Home and Work

Kitty Hawk, NC, February 20, 2020

Tim has certainly seen his share of Big Macs and golden fries during his 12 years of employment at McDonald’s in the Outer Banks.  He is celebrating his dozen years with the people who have supported him through the Easterseals UCP Individual and Community Services (ICS) program.

man at restaurantTim is grateful for his job where he wipes down trays and tables throughout the McDonald’s restaurant. The staff at the restaurant has been supportive helping individuals like Tim learn new skills and maintain employment. The ICS team also provides Tim with community living and networking supports to make sure he has the resources he needs.

Lisa Ammons, Easterseals UCP ICS Supervisor, said “We really enjoy having the opportunity to support Tim. He is so sweet and his smile lights up the room.  Everyone that meets him enjoys being around him!”

The ICS program supports individuals with Intellectual or Developmental Disabilities (IDD) by providing one-to-one services uniquely tailored to their needs to acquire and maintain daily living skills.  The staff strives to assist individuals to live with greater independence in our communities.  Learn more about Easterseals UCP Individual and Community Services.
